Climate change is real and it's already impacting our way of life. If we continue to fiddle while our precious planet Earth is put under more and more stress, lives will be lost and our way of life will fundamentally change.

To address the climate crisis, we must immediately invest in an Apollo project for clean energy. This includes investing in wind, solar, geothermal and other clean energy technologies.

The Keystone XL pipeline is a step in the wrong direction. It solidifies our reliance on dirty fossil fuels that contribute to the climate crisis. Sheila Oliver strongly opposes the Keystone XL pipeline.

She also opposes fracking. As speaker, Sheila Oliver opposed fracking in New Jersey and she will fight against the destructive practice in the United States Senate. Fracking contributes to ground water contamination and some scientists have tied it to other geological problems like earthquakes.

Here in New Jersey, we must ensure that drinking water is safe for all our people. That's why Speaker Oliver strongly support strengthening the Clean Water Act and fully funding enforcement to ensure that all of our water is safe to drink.
